Why I totally LOVE it!!!
You can create your own world with your own characters.
I know some favorite authors of mine don't allow fanfiction of their series, which is totally OK with me. It's their opinion, not mine. So far I have never been tempted to cross that particular line/boundary and I never will, FYI.
Some people don't understand our love of writing fanfiction like we do.
I've gotten into trouble twice because of writing fanfiction the way I do.. but it won't stop me from continuing to write in my own way.
The favorite kind I write is celebrity fanfiction. I also love reading fanfiction from shows like V, Supernatural, Smallville(!), Vampire Diaries, Heroes and a lot more other shows.
When I started writing fanfiction (10 years ago give or take) I had started with Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
I'll never stop writing... unless I get cast on a tv show with my favorite actress... *sighs* one can dream, right?
