Prologue
Jan looked around his new apartment. Everything was totally new, from the couch in the living room to the bed in the bedroom. And he had an amazing view from outside his window. Everything was perfect... except for one thing. He didn't have one single poster of his favorite actress. You could see it as the actress that he was in love with.
His mother had made him put the countless pictures and posters that he had had of Laura Vandervoort on eBay, actually all the pictures and posters that he owned of countless actresses, not just those of Laura Vandervoort, to put that life behind him and really focus on his own life here in Toronto.
True, it had provided a larger bank account with the money he had made from that decision, but he still felt empty without her. Now what would be wrong about having one poster of Laura Vandervoort in his apartment? Exactly, nothing would be wrong with that. So he left his apartment, took the elevator down and left the apartment complex.
Now of course with starting over, Jan would also need a job. But first things first. It took Jan a long time to find a store that sells posters. He entered the store and began to search for the Laura Vandervoort posters. He found the section he was looking for and flipped poster after poster example to find the right one. There were lots of posters of the actress, but there was a single one that he had wanted. It was the one that made him fall for her, the first picture of Laura Vandervoort as Kara on Smallville.
He found the picture and smiled... however, the smile soon fell from his face when he tried to see if there were any copies left. "Damn it!!" he cursed throughout the store.
"Can I help you?"
Jan turned around at the sound of the voice behind him. He guessed this was the owner. "No, it's okay. I was looking for this poster, but since it is so popular which I can totally understand by the way, I don't need any-" Jan started, but was cut off by the owner.
"Actually, I still have one left."
That made Jan blink his eyes. "Huh? Where?"
The shopkeeper didn't answer him. "Can you handle that poster?"
Again, Jan blinked. Was this owner high on something? "What do you mean can I handle that poster?"
"It is a very special one. It has her signature on it."
EVEN BETTER!!! Jan thought as he grinned. "Of course I can handle it. Unless there is more I need to know about this very special poster?"
The owner looked at the young man in front of him. Would he believe me? "It has special powers. Even though I have never used those powers."
Jan raised an eyebrow. A poster with special powers? Riiiight. "Is this how you sell your posters? You make up some make-believe story that your customers believe and ka-ching!!"
"It's that poster or you leave my store with nothing. And trust me, other stores won't have a copy of that poster anymore. Not since the airing of Season 7 of Smallville, anyway. Unless you would want to go on eBay and get a used one."
Trust this lunatic and get the poster I am looking for, or walk out of his store and carry on my quest for the poster which according to the owner is an impossible one? Jan thought. What a cock-and-bull story! Well, I do want that poster, strange powers or not.
"I'll have that poster then. How much?" Jan asked as he took his wallet out of his pocket. He would pay ANYTHING to have that poster up against his bedroom wall. Yeah, right there, so he would wake up and see her face every morning and when he went to bed every night.
"I don't need your money. It's free." the shopkeeper said as he moved toward the back.
Jan's mouth dropped open. "Say what?!" He exclaimed as he followed him to the back.
There was a sign that read "Personnel Only" and so Jan stood there waiting for the shopkeeper to come back.
It didn't take long or he was back with the poster. He hadn't lied. It was the last copy that he had. The shopkeeper held the big folder with the poster inside it in front of Jan, waiting for him to take it.
He took it from the shopkeeper and as he opened the big folder, Jan did see her signature in the bottom right corner.
"Thank you. Now are you sure you don't want any money for it?" the young man asked the shopkeeper, but he still shook his head.
"Okay, have a nice day then." Jan said as he left the store. When he was almost out of the store, did he turn around to look at the shopkeeper. "One more thing... how do I active these so called powers? What are they?"
The shopkeeper showed a toothy grin. "You'll find out soon enough. No need to worry about that now."
Jan raised his brow again and then left, with one last thought. Yeah, this dude is totally bonkers.
*~~*~~*~~*~~*
After he returned to his apartment, Jan was giddy with excitement to put his poster on the wall of his bedroom wall. Yeah, if he would ever find someone to be with, they had to wake up and go to bed with Laura's face looking at them too, but Jan didn't care about that. Surely they wouldn't mind, right? It's not like Laura would have control over Jan and his girlfriend because of her staring back at them, right?
"Special powers, my ass." Jan muttered as he looked at the finished product. Yeah, this would look nice. He left his bedroom and got ready to start his dinner. He didn't have a lot in stock at the moment, but he made due with what he had. After his dinner he put the dishes in the dishwasher.
Jan returned to the bedroom and started up his laptop. If he was lucky, he could talk to Laura via the network site Facebook. If the account was Verified, then it surely had to be Laura Vandervoort's, right? He remembered the times that he had been online back in the country with his parents, but then there had been that huge time zone difference, so he would always miss Laura being online. Yet there had been the few occasions that he had managed to be online at the same time that she was.
He checked his e-mail messages first. Most were of his family and friends asking him how the trip was and how the apartment looked. He had decided to not include his 'purchase' of a Laura Vandervoort poster, not even to his friends, so he replied to all of them that the trip had been fine and that the apartment looked perfect. He also included that he hadn't been hunting down the wanted ads yet.
And then there was Facebook. He went to Laura's page and clicked from Offline to Online, to see who was online. That other person who liked Laura Vandervoort was online and some of his friends. Jan sighed. He didn't want to talk to any of them, plus he wasn't in the mood to play a game like Elementz or Sushi Panic, so he logged out and closed off his laptop.
After securing his laptop in his laptop bag, Jan got off from the bed and stripped off his clothing, his eyes on the poster with every piece of clothing that he took off, while in thought. What had that crazy shopkeeper meant with this poster having powers? Jan just didn't understand.
When he was fully nude, he crawled toward the bedroom wall. "Goodnight Laura Vandervoort." Jan whispered as his lips touched the wall...
~~*~~*~~*~~*
Laura Vandervoort relaxed in her Jacuzzi in her Los Angeles apartment that she had with Corey. Her boyfriend wasn't in Los Angeles, but was shooting a movie abroad. She had wished him best of luck this morning. Gods, how she missed him. She had just gotten off the phone with him before she had gotten into the Jacuzzi. She wanted to feel his touch on her body... but what she got instead was a warm feeling on her lips. A Spark of pleasure that ignited on her lips.
~~*~~*~~*~~*
His lips felt warm to the touch. At first he had wanted to pull back and crawl under the covers, but instead of doing that, his lips traveled down her chin... to her light blue top...
~~*~~*~~*
Laura arched her head back and felt the spark of pleasure go from her lips to her chin... to her breasts. She let out a soft moan...
