[Note: I heard that Zelda would have been 7 back when she meets Link for the first time, though I would like to say that she was 11 when he met her... it'll work for the 7 years later so that Zelda is close to an adult. Okay, on with the story.]
Zelda's Adventure: Chapter Two: Pain
They reached their Hideout and dismounted from their horses. Whereas Ganondorf's was a black horse, Leoni's was a beautiful white one. Ganondorf had managed to get Talon to give Leoni a horse for his birthday as a present. Leoni loved that horse. He would be devastated if anything bad would happen to her. It also acted as a perfect cover for Leoni being one of Zelda's Court. That and the fact that Ganondorf had stolen a uniform from the Royal Guards that would be a perfect fit for his son. They would never know he was Ganondorf's son. The matter had been handled very discreetly and up to this day nobody hadn't had a single thought that Leoni and Ganondorf were related.
They tied up their horses and entered the Fortress. All followers of Ganondorf got on their knees to worship their leader. "All hail Ganondorf and his son Leoni!" They shouted. Ganondorf held up a hand that meant they had to get up again. His followers did so. "Your leader and his son have returned with good news."
One of the followers spoke up. "What did you learn, oh fearless leader? Do you know where the Triforce is?"
The leader halted in his step toward his private chambers. He smirked. "Actually, my son learned all of it. Leoni, why don't you tell everyone about what you have learned?" He asked his son, who nodded. Ganondorf himself would love to know what he had learned from Zelda and that green guy that had been looking at him through the window outside of the Courtyard. "Very well, Father. This is what I learned." Leoni said and began to tell everyone, including his father, about the things that Princess Zelda had told him and Link.
"So all we need to do is to get this Link to fetch the Spiritual Stones and get the Ocarina of Time for us and we will have it!" Ganondorf shouted to his people, a fist in the air in triumph.
~~
Several weeks passed. Leoni continued his spying around Princess Zelda's sight and would deliver the information on the status of Link's progress. He was now going to the Courtyard, because he hadn't seen the Princess of Hyrule anywhere in the Castle. She was outside and gasped when she saw him. "Princess." Leoni said and bowed in front of her. "What troubles you?"
She had this look on her face that made Leoni wonder if she knew he was double-crossing the Royal Family of the Kingdom of Hyrule. He placed an arm on her shoulder.
Zelda acted on instinct and wrapped her arms around him. She nuzzled her face against the front of his clothes. "I had another dream." Leoni wasn't surprised. She always had dreams. His hand ran through her hair, while his other rested around her back, reassuring her that she could tell him and that he would keep it a secret. Well, that remained to be seen, of course. "Well, are you going to keep me in the dark about it or would you like to tell me what your dream was about?" Leoni asked her.
"Remember that bad man who the two of us and Link saw through that window?" Princess Zelda asked as she looked into his eyes. Leoni nodded. "Yeah, I remember... Ganondorf, leader of the Gerudos, right? The dark clouds in your previous dream."
This time Zelda nodded. "Yeah..." she said, and stopped. She couldn't say it. "What? Is he going to hurt Link? Tell me, Princess Zelda, Please." Tears began to fall out of her eyes.
Had he guessed correctly? His hand was about to leave her back, when she began to cry. "He is going to hurt you! I didn't hear any voices when I had the dream, but he kidnapped you!" Leoni decided to return his hand on her back, which made Zelda get closer and before they knew it, her lips had pressed against his!!!
She was shocked to have finally kissed him and immediately broke the kiss. This wasn't supposed to happen. He was a friend, yes. But just a friend. She would wait for the Hero of Time. She was looking at him wide-eyed, not having meant to kiss him. Leoni was staring at her with the same expression, when he reached forward and kissed her lips instead. "Please be careful, Leoni." Princess Zelda said to her friend with pleading eyes that told Leoni that what she had dreamt was not a lie. The embrace ended and they stood there looking at one another.
He got on his knees and held one of Zelda's hands in his. "I promise, Princess Zelda, Future Queen of Hyrule." Leoni said to her as he looked up at her. Again with that Future Queen of Hyrule!!
"Uhm..." Zelda started and blushed again.
"I... I have to go." Leoni told her and got up from his kneeling position in front of Zelda and turned around to go.
"Be safe, Leoni." Zelda whispered as she watched his back go to the doorway and soon he wasn't there in the Courtyard anymore. She had just kissed him. What was she thinking?!
~~
It was time. Link had gotten all the Spiritual Stones together and was now on his way to return to Hyrule. Day had turned into night. The torches were glowing... and the drawbridge lowered. Wait, hadn't he dreamt this before?
YES! There was Princess Zelda with her Guardian Impa on one of the Royal Horses galloping from the Hyrule Town like the devil was on their heels! Did he see it correctly? Did she throw something in the moat? And then Link looked around.
Ganondorf was there on his black horse. Another horse, this time one of the Royal Family's horses galloped through over the drawbridge. "Zelda!!!" Leoni cried out as he continued to chase her horse. Link was distracted by Leoni, not hearing the black horse stagger up from the floor and bring his hoofs down.
"WHAAA!" Link cried out as he fell from his feet on his behind. Ganondorf chased after his son and Zelda. He had seen the Princess chuck something into the castle moat and had thought that his son would obtain it while he had his little scene with that so-called Hero Link. But noooo! He had to shout for Zelda! Was his son in love? With the friggin' Princess of the Kingdom Ganondorf HIMSELF wanted to rule?!
~~
"You IDIOT!!! But of course, why would you have seen that she had thrown the OCARINA OF TIME into the castle moat?!" Ganondorf yelled at his son in his private chambers. Leoni had backed into a corner, cowering in fear. "I'm s-sorry, daddy. I m-messed up. F-Forgive me, p-please." Leoni said as he trembled from head to toe.
"And why did you do that?! Ohhh, I have a good hunch as to why you did that." Ganondorf said as he removed his belt from his pants. "Do you want me to spell it out for you?" He asked his son as he came closer. There was no answer from his son who was so scared of his own father. "You love Zelda, don't you? That's WHY you didn't do what you were supposed to do!" Ganondorf yelled out in rage.
Leoni tried to make a dash for the door, but Ganondorf grabbed his ankle and his son went down on the floor. "Daddy please! Don't!" he cried. His father threw him on the bed and unleashed his fury on his son's back by bringing down his belt.
"DADDY STOP!!!" Leoni cried out. Hot tears stained the bedsheets. "I had to keep up.... oww... appearances!" He yelled out from the pain that coursed through his back. "My own son in love with the Princess! You're such a disappointment! You will NEVER be remembered through history!"
His father thundered on with his outrage. "I ask you to do ONE LITTLE THING! We were so close!!!! So DAMN CLOSE!!!" His father shouted in rage. His son's whole back was black and blue, blood stuck to the attire that Leoni was wearing.
His father left him as Leoni yelled, screamed in his father's room from the multiple stings of the belt, trying to do what he had wanted to do. Hoping it wasn't too late. That he could still become who he had always wanted to become, which was King Ganondorf of Hyrule, that he could possess the one thing he had always wanted to possess, the Triforce.
~~
Link opened the Door of Time by playing the Song of Time on the Ocarina of Time at the Temple of Time. He watched as the three Spiritual Stones sank into their sockets of the altar... while thinking about Zelda and Leoni. Would they be alright?
It was such an impressive display. The symbol of the Triforce above the Door of Time began to glow yellow. It opened to reveal... a passage way that ended in a room with a sword in a pedestal.
Navi chittered. "Link, isn't that...?" the little fairy flew closer toward the sword that was stuck in the pedestal. "It's that legendary blade... the Master Sword!!!" Navi the fairy returned to Link's side who began to run toward the pedestal. Link stepped on the altar, his hands wrapped around the hilt of the sword... yes! He pulled out the blade!!!
A wave of blue energy enveloped Link, the Triforce Symbol began to glow and poof! He was gone!
It seemed that he had still made it. He grinned evilly as he approached the doorway. "Geh heh heh! Excellent work!!" At least Link was someone Ganondorf could count on to succeed... "As I was told, you held the keys to the Door of Time! You have led me to the gates of the Sacred Realm... Yes! I owe all to you, kid!"
If grinning evilly wasn't bad enough, Ganondorf began to laugh evilly now...
