Help!

 What do I do?!

It drives me up the wall! 

I have an iPad Air and for some stupid reason I keep getting a battery with a red indication at the bottom that it says it's low and needs to be charged up... except that is exactly what I have been doing for the past few days and keeping it in a socket to recharge. 

Is it a charger problem or is the problem my iPad Air?? 

I prefer doing games on iPad instead of doing on phone (although I do have a few on phone namely Looney Tunes World of Mayhem because the iPad version kept crashing, probably there's a new update out now that prevents that but because that kept happening I transferred my game to my phone and have been playing there ever since) 

UPDATE 23:00: As always, just waiting it out and staying near my child the iPad suddenly makes the screen light up with the Apple screen and then it works just fine. It's just the huge chunks of waiting that irks me.
