Chapter 3 : Roomies
Kara Kent couldn't be happier, so she kissed back... and then stopped. Wait, this is wrong! Lois has just been through a horrible experience... I can't use the love of my life like this! Kara thought sadly and so she removed her lips from Lois, but continued to hold her in her arms.... not hearing Lex Luthor come in.
"What in the name of Alexander The Great has happened here?" Lex asked, taking in the scene before him. Kara whipped her head around to look at the source of that voice. There was Lex again... Her eyes narrowed. "Ask that to your employee Jacen Solo. I'm going to take Lois to the hospital." Kara told Lex as she tried to move out of the room while still holding Lois in her arms. Of course there would be the problem of superspeeding her toward the hospital... Lois would definitely ask questions why she would get there so fast.
Dammit! I told him to keep an eye out for her, not unleash his perverse thoughts on her! Lex angrily thought, but his face didn't betray the anger he felt. Yet he smiled at Kara. "You go do that, Kara." Lex said, when suddenly Lois spoke.
"Call... the cops, Lex. They must know how dangerous... Jacen Solo is. I want him arrested so he can't hurt any girl ever again!" Lois said, while Kara tried to shush Lois, saying it was going to be alright again.
Again, Lex nodded, and walked out of the room into the adjoining room, where he saw an unconscious Jacen Solo. Stupid idiot! Couldn't keep your desires in check, could you? I should kill you for what you did! Lex thought as he got closer to the unconscious form of his employee. "Do I have to do everything myself?" he whispered to himself as he gave his employee a onceover and then went to the phone on the desk and called an ambulance, instead of calling the cops.
Kara kissed Lois's forehead. "Don't worry, Lois, you will be at the hospital before you can blink. Please don't fight me, but close your eyes and before you know it, you'll be at the Smallville Medical Center." Kara said, not knowing of another hospital in Metropolis. So Lois closed her eyes and decided not to comment on the whooshes she felt along the way... although she would definitely ask Kara what all this was about, should she ever get a chance to.
"Okay, Lois, you can open your eyes now." Kara said after they had arrived at the Smallville Medical Center.... just at the exact moment the ambulance Lex had called stopped at Smallville Medical Center as well. There was a brancard with a black cloth draped over the person's body as it was wheeled into the building.
Lois was taken into a hospital room, along with the body that was under the black cloth. Kara watched through the glass doors, clearly her facial features betrayed how she felt about Lois's wellbeing. If you hadn't been there, I would have killed him, for sure... Kara thought when she heard another whoosh. That could only mean her Kryptonian cousin had arrived.
"Kara! Where's Lois? Is she alright? I couldn't believe it when Lex of all people called me!" Clark said. He was hugged by Kara, who had tears falling on Clark's favorite choice of clothing. "A co-worker of Lois attacked her!" Kara cried against Clark's body. "She called me suddenly and I didn't hesitate to speed to the Planet and save her. Clark, I almost ki..." Kara said, but was cut off by Clark. "You didn't show anyone your powers, did you?" Clark asked. "Of course not!" Kara replied, eyes blazing red but not enough power in them to set off a heat vision blast. "Killed him, if it hadn't been for Lois!" Kara finished. Clark's eyes got huge, but then diminished to his normal eye size. "Kara, I'm sorry, if I hadn't been spending so much time with Chloe, I'd..." Clark began, but was cut off by Kara. Fucking Lois's cousin, yeah, Kal-El, I know... Kara thought, and finished his sentence for him. "would have come over as fast as a speeding bullet, I know, Clark. That's why I was there instead." Kara simply said.
Her eyes moved to her cousin and regarded him. "Should... should we let Chloe know what happened to her cousin? I mean, she is family after all.." Kara carefully said.
Clark only nodded. Just when Clark whipped out his cellphone to call Chloe, did Chloe walk in looking worried.
"Lex calling me, after all the things he had put us through, he just calls me?" Chloe asks, but quickly changed the subject. "Where Lois? Is she alright?" Chloe asked, frantic with concern and worry for her cousin.
"I saved her, Chloe." Kara spoke up. "She's currently in this hospital room." She told Chloe, indicating the one where she was put in. Chloe's arms went straight for Clark's cousin. "Thank you so much, Kara, if it hadn't been for you then..." Chloe trailed off, tears already spilling from her eyes. "There there, Chloe, she's going to be alright." Clark said, kissing away each tear that spilled from his lover's eyes. See? I want to have that too, with Lois... Kara thought as she watched her cousin kiss Chloe Anne Sullivan's tears away.
Both doctors who are in the room check their respective patients, the black sheet is removed and Jacen Solo's face is revealed, eyes open with a horrible look on his face. The events keep on flashing through his mind's eye: him losing it with Lois, slapping Lois over and over and then the pain he felt from the blonde woman who had crashed through the wall and save Lois from his nasty, dirty hands. He looks around in the other bed and to his astonishment sees Lois laying there. Can't they have set us up in a different room? Better her in this room than me.... Jacen fearfully thought. Lex would totally fire him now if he cared about Lois...
