Would she like it? Lois thought as she sat on her couch in the living room of her apartment. A part of her felt sad that she hadn't accepted Smallville's offer to stay at the Kent Farm, but after everything that had happened in that weird place, she figured she should probably keep her distance from him for awhile. "Oh yes." Lois said with a grin as she returned to her seat on the couch. Tess sat down next to Lois and looked at her.

"What's in the box, Lois?" her boss asked.

"Oh, well, you see... because you got me a raise and this apartment, I figured I should do something for you, you know?"

"Just continue to write such perfect articles and we're even."

Lois was disappointed and it clearly showed on her face. "But don't you want to see what's inside?"

Tess bit her bottom lip as she saw the disappointment on Lois Lane's face.

"Oh alright." she said as she took the package and opened it.

"Lois, what's this? Aren't we a little old for friendship bracelets?" Tess asked with the tilt of an eyebrow and a soft smile.

"I thought it'd be a nice gesture." Lois told her boss. "If you don't like it, that's okay."

"Don't be ridiculous, Lois, thanks." Tess said and took one bracelet to slip it around her wrist, not seeing her eyes briefly flash pink.

"There. Aren't you going to put yours on your wrist?" Tess asked with a smile to Lois as she picked up the second bracelet and held it out for Lois to take it. She slipped it around her wrist... her eyes also briefly flashed pink.
